The Temptation to Rush

We live in a culture that celebrates the reveal more than the repetition. We see the opening, not the preparation. The milestone, not the mornings that built it. The abundance, not the first careful offering.

It can make a beginning feel embarrassingly small, as though early work only matters after it becomes visible to everyone else. But small beginnings are not lesser beginnings. They are often where character is formed.

Faithfulness Is a Form of Growth

Growth is not only an increase in numbers. Sometimes growth looks like better judgment, a more disciplined process, a calmer response, the humility to receive correction or the courage to say no to what is not aligned.

Those changes may not photograph well, but they strengthen everything that follows. The day of small things gives us room to become capable of carrying more. There is grace in that pace.

Do not wait for a larger platform to become thoughtful, generous or faithful.

A Quiet Practice for This Week

Choose one small thing you have been tempted to dismiss. Give it your full attention. Complete it with care. Resist the urge to announce it before it has had time to take root.

Thank God for the beginning, not only for the outcome you hope it will become. We do not have to force every seed into a harvest overnight.
